Pepsi
Public Statements Risk
Pepsi is a high profile company with a relatively non-controversial CEO, Ramon Laguarta. The CEO has, however, stated publicly that his main mission is to increase Pepsi's sustainability. Regarding marketing materials, Pepsi has had their fair share of "insensitive" content, often accused of having racist undertones. The sheer volume of its marketing material naturally upgrades the company's risk of future controversies. The website, however, does not include any potentially inflamatory material.

Political Contributions Risk
Contributions are very high compared to other beverage companies (with Coca-Cola being a distant second). Contribute relatively evenly to both parties, but with a slight Democratic lean. Contributions mostly through the company's PAC, rather than senior executives.

Political Dichotomy Risk
Contributions are high and lean Democratic, yet Pepsi's consumers are likely politically diverse. Pepsi is in a similar boycott risk category as Coke and Bud Light. According to Pepsi's 10-K, about 75% of the firm's operating profit comes from North America. The 10-K mentions DEI, ESG, and 2030 sustainability goals. It further notes that, "Our beverage and convenient food products compete primarily on the basis of brand recognition and loyalty...Success in this competitive environment is dependent on effective promotion of existing products...". The "Political and social conditions" section implies the firm is aware of the impacts U.S. politics in particular could have on its business. Climate change, measures to address it, public perception, and strikes are further mentioned as risks.

Associational Risk
Researched revealed no associations with controversial figures. Pepsi has continued its support for the LGBTQ+ community, Black community, and sustainability goals. Its only associations on social media are with uncontroversial celebrities like Bad Bunny and NFL players. Have contributed to a few controversial politicians, including Biden and Trump.

Brand Visibility Risk
Pepsi is an incredibly well known and historic brand. Its brand name products are known globally and sell, to some degree, on being a part of their consumers' identities. But because the company is very diversified, it is somewhat insulated.
