Best Buy
Public Statements Risk
Recently caught flack for a leadership training program for minority employees. They post for pride month, and have run events related to it. The CEO stays out of the news and the firm's marketing as a whole is pretty boilerplate, with little mention of DEI or political issues.

Political Contributions Risk
Donations split nearly evenly between the parties, with a slight Democratic lean. Most electronics/tech brands lean heavily Democratic. Best Buy contributes significantly less than other major electronics retailers, lowering its pH rating.

Political Dichotomy Risk
Best Buy generates 92% of its revenue domestically. 43% of sales were mobile phones, 30% consumer electronics, and 15% appliances. Their target market is younger and middle-aged with low-to-middle economic status. Recently, many of those who led the Bud Light boycott turned to Best Buy as a target after details of their minority management program leaked. The company's consumer base tends to be younger and located in states with significant metropolitan hubs, indicating a Democratic lean. Best Buy contributes minimally with a slight Democratic skew.

Associational Risk
Their social media pages contain no connections to controversial figures. Headlines only related to business and have no negative undertones. No scandals related to any Best Buy executives. The only controversy is regarding the CEO's public support through Twitter to strive for diversity in the workplace. The brand has donated to Hillary Clinton in the past.

Brand Visibility Risk
Not quite on the level of a lifestyle brand, but is national and generally exposed. They are primarily product focused, but do sell high-ticket items.
